Infectious and erotic, slow and washed in drenching synths, “Stargirl Interlude” is the eighth track from The Weeknd’s third studio album Starboy. The interlude features previous collaborator Lana Del Rey who co-wrote the song.
The title of the track is a reference to the success of Abel as a “Starboy,” who happens to need a superwoman to complete him. However, the lyrics are mysterious in nature and Del Rey starts off low and ends high, The Weeknd closing off the 2-minute interlude.
Lyrics of Stargirl Interlude
I had a vision
A vision of my nails in the kitchen
Scratching counter tops, I was screaming
My back arched like a cat
My position couldn't stop
You were hitting it
And I shouldn't cry, but I love it, starboy
And I shouldn't cry, but I love it (I love it), starboy
And I shouldn't cry, but I love it, starboy
And I shouldn't cry, but I love it, starboy
I just wanna see you shine 'cause I know you are a stargirl
I just wanna see you shine 'cause I know you are a stargirl
I just wanna see you shine 'cause I know you are a stargirl
