In “Starry Eyes,” The Weeknd is discussing a common theme of Dawn FM–caution in regard to love–in light of a special girl.
More specifically, Abel’s dream girl–one who he has been enamoured with since he was “young and alone in the world,"–has gone through struggles of her own: ones which have left her "shattered.”
Despite the previous tracks on the album demonstrating that The Weeknd has learnt of the dangerously consuming nature of love through experience, he seems ready to dive into a relationship with his dream girl to help her emotionally. Evidently, he cares about her poignantly to do so despite his learnt fears of love.
